Only one thing that keep me from give 5 star
Every summer! Best place around!
This campground has been around for a really long time. It's a pretty good area of the river, but Many Islands is really about one thing... money. You pay for EVERYTHING. Come to fish, or swim or just eat a picnic lunch, it cost. Want to camp, it cost. Want electricity, yep cost. Wood to burn, yes more money. Want to air up your tube, that cost, too. Want to take a shower in cold tap water, better bring some quarters because that also cost money. During the week it is fairly family friendly. However, the weekends bring the drunk/party crowd. I am not exagerating when I say there were litterally hundreds of empty beer cans along the road in and out. I spent dozens of nights at Many Islands as a teen, but it just isn't the place it used to be. I don't think they create an environment for families, and I feel like they have gotten a little greedy, as of late.
Nice place to go at Spring River, lots of camp ground and picnic area. Family friendly.
I was treated with disrespect to say the least. Sunday June 6, 2010, My friends and I went on a float trip down the spring river, using a raft that we rented from Many Islands. Upon renting the raft my friends and I were asked to give a $100 cash deposit. We did so and then I rented the raft using my debit card ($82.50). The 3 of us floated the river and enjoyed it. Once we got back to the campgrounds, someone from a neigboring canoe, bailed from his canoe to help us ashore. He was not part of my renting party, and he was not in our boat. He only helped us to the shore. Upon returning our raft we did not receive our full cash deposit. When we questioned the establishment on their reasoning for denying our full deposit, they told us that we are only getting 75 dollars because we had 4 people in our raft. This was not the case. I asked who the onsite manager was, and asked to see them to resolve this matter. The discussion got heated on their part, as I calmly explained the situtation to them. The manager went as far as to call me a lying A-hole, and told me to go F myself and told me I needed to get the F out of there. All because I questioned why they were keeping 25 dollars of my deposit and asked for my money back. This is no way to treat a patron, or anyone for that matter. I will not be going there again nor will my friends and family.
Loved the river... this place is over priced to boot and not to friendly.. after shuttle pricing it's just as expensive to carry your own boat vs. using theirs. $70 for two boats... yours or theirs. They also charge docking fee... even if your camping there. One day fee for one person camping with power and using their own boat is $50
